Erik H Erikson’s Eight Stages of Development:

Stage 4: Preadolesence-the challenge of industriousness Versus inferiority)

Between ages six and thriteen, children enter school, make friends, and strike out their own more and more. They either feel proud of their accomplishments or fear that they do not measure up.

I agree with this. What we as parents can do to help them feel a sense of acheivment is to give them projects or hobbies that when completed they will feel a sense of pride. This will help build a sense of character and creativity which will give them the building blocks they need as children at this stage in thier life. It will also build confidence and insteal work ethic at a early age. Children are the future we must prepare them for what is to come at a early age. We must teach them to be leaders ,but also know how to take orders and follow directions. A good leader is also a better listener and knows to do right from wrong.
